Alvin Lee

by Michael Albert
(Bartonville, IL, USA)

He has mastered many styles of play, not merely one genre, and he has been playing for over 50 (yes 50) years! He was at Woodstock with Ten Years After and solo for many years since. To hear his driven Rock and Roll, listen to : "I'm Going Home" and the great "Choo Choo Mama." His Blues playing is second to none on "Religion" and I Can't Keep from Crying Sometimes." In between you have "I Wanted to Boogie" and "You Give Me Loving."

One more note, his nickname is "Fast Hands"!

For Rick Z NEW

Rolling Stone magazine has been irrelevant in regards to music for twenty years. They have become a political rag, and should never be considered a valid source for music standards.
When you do cite them, you only show that you cannot judge the music for yourself.
Alvin Lee was a great guitarist, and will be sorely missed by many.
