Eddie Van Halen

Eddie Van Halen

Eddie Van Halen took bombastic fret-work and fingertapping solos to an entirely new level. Without Eddie, There would be no Randy Rhodes, no Yngwie Malmsteen, and no Vito Bratta. Not only did Eddie Van Halen influence hundreds, even thousands, he also took pure shredding somewhere new. Rather than just putting as many notes as he could into a song, Eddie made even the fastest riffs musical as well as insanely fast. Tracks like "Eruption" and the solo from "Beat It" are prime examples of true musical shredding, while songs like "Dreams" and "Panama" show Eddie's lyrical ability. Long live Van Halen!
