I think Rory Gallagher desrves mentioning. Maybe not # 1 but in the top 100

I love Rory Gallagher because no matter what he had in his hand, he exceeded expectations. His trademark guitar was his Fender Strat. But when he played acoustic guitar, his Martin, the National steel guitar or the mandolin, his shows were exhilerating. The adrenalin was drained. And if that wasn't enough, if you were lucky to have met him, what a gentle human being. I have met a few stars and quite a few were jerks. It's hard to say who is THE best. Rollingstone magazine and their readers don't know Rory Gallagher existed. And as far as female guitarist goes, Bonnie Raitt is great but so is Ellen McIlwaine.
