Jerry could play all styles of music, rock, blues, country, jazz etc. His versaility and willingness to take risks in hid playing, in my opinion, puts him above those players who stuck to what they did really well (e.g., Clapton and Vaughan who never really stretched themselves beyond the blues, which they clearly and obviously mastered).
