Kirk Hammett

by Ben Fischer
(England)

Many guitarists have a certain style they're specialised in and which they can only really play well - Kirk Hammett has managed to adapt to the changing genres of Metallica, and incredibly perform many different styles of guitar solos, along with great rhythm play aswell. Whether it be from the rapid hammering in One or the insane difficulty of Creeping Death and Ride the Lightning, to the slow passionate solos in 'ballads' such as Fade to Black. He's particularly unique in the extensive use of the wha wha pedal, using it to express his playing an emotions to a whole new level sucessfully in songs.
