Neil Young - All time great guitarist

Neil Young Rockin' Out

OK, I admit that Neil Young is not the greatest technical guitar player, and most people wouldn't pick him as best guitar player, but he's my favorite because of overall strength in number of different areas. Not only is he skilled and talented guitarist, but he is extremely versatile, playing everything from acoustic like on Needle and the Damage Done, to the full frontal rock assault of Rockin' in the Free World.

I'm also giving him lots of credit for songwriting prowess, durability over a long career from the 60's to today, and that he has been able to constantly re-invent himself over the years, and not get stuck in a rut. He's was a part of some influencial bands like Buffalo Springfield and CSN&Y. And after all that, he can still rock a packed arena with Rust Never Sleeps! Long Live the God Father of Grunge!
