Here are a few buying tips as you shop: 1.) buy a quality instrument: it will play and sound better, last longer, and hold its value better than a cheapie; 2.) Better known brands include Fender, Ibanez, Gibson, Yamaha, and Epiphone, among others. If you go for an off-brand, understand who made it its quality; 3.) ask a lot of questions of the seller: how old? how used/played? where stored? 4.) especially find out if the neck has ever been warped, split, or repaired: you don't want someone elses piece of junk!
